It’s our greatest wish that you might have one more meal from Banh Street before we say good-bye. We didn’t want to just close on Sunday without letting you know in advance. There are just too many challenges in the current environment with Covid/Delta, staffing challenges and massively elevated food costs to make this labor of love viable in the near term. It’s because of our great team and fantastic customers that we have been able to successfully operate a small business, provide jobs and support much needed local non-profits, first responders and frontline workers. We are so proud that for nearly seven years Banh Street has been able to serve the Glenside, Ambler and Conshohocken neighborhood’s amazing food that mashed up Vietnamese, Hispanic and Philadelphia food cultures in a uniquely delicious and creative way. We will close our doors for good when the clock strikes 8pm on Sunday. Once the hosting restaurant had the opportunity to reopen fully, it could no longer provide a home for Banh Street. There was also a short successful stint as a virtual, takeout/delivery-only, Conshohocken location in 2020 during the pandemic. The brand started with a small takeout-only location in Abington in 2015 (closed in 2019) and opened the Ambler location in 2017. to enjoy one last banh mi sandwich or something else off the menu. If it was one of your favorites, you have through Sunday at 8:00 p.m. In the announcement, the impact of COVID-19, staffing challenges, and rising food costs, were cited as what drove the decision. Banh Street, located at 832 North Bethlehem Pike in Ambler (Lower Gwynedd), announced today that it will be closing after this weekend.
